Chemisty Deluxe Vinyl

This is a vinyl record design of Kelly Clarkson’s tenth studio album [Chemistry], the deluxe version. The deluxe version was only released on CD, so I took this chance to redesign what I would envision her deluxe record to be.

Scope: Package design, Visual identity

Conceptualizing Chemistry

Kelly Clarkson called this not just “a divorce or breakup album [but] more of a relationship album.” I wanted to create an experience that took one through being in a relationship: channeling being together and being alone. I was inspired by microscope slides and created a translucent sleeve that transformed the cover into something new, just like chemistry, combining two images into one.

Process

Figuring out how translucent the sleeve needed to be for the perfect effect took multiple attempts.
